Ralph George Steinke, 78, of Arroyo Grande, Calif., died May 2, 2013. Born in Freeport, Ill., he was an educator and retired dean of De Anza College.
There will be no service. His ashes will be scattered at the Kilauea Volcano. Donations in his memory may be made to Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Attn.: Superintendent Cindy Orlando, P.O. Box 52, Hawaii Volcano National Park, HI 96718.
He is survived by companion, Jacquelyn Jacobs; sister, Janice Temple; daughter, Kristen Ryan; son, Ned Steinke; a grandson; two granddaughters.
