A single-car crash early Saturday caused a nearly all-day closure of Highway 11 in the north of Fujihara Store in South Kona.
The road was closed shortly before 6 a.m. after a car struck a utility pole on the makai side of the highway, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The road partially reopened at 12:35 p.m.
Police had no further information on injuries, however, confirmed no fatalities occurred.
Hawaii Electric Light Co. crews remain on scene. HELCO did not have an estimated time of completion and the road remained restricted to one lane of travel as of press time Saturday.
