Stephen W. Troute, 67, of Kailua-Kona died June 2, 2013, at the Queen’s Medical Center. Born Aug. 18, 1945, he was a Navy veteran, retired as operations office at Pohakuloa Training Area, member of the Kona Sailing Club, Waimea YMCA Youth Sailing Program, Kawaihae Harbor Users Group, Hamakua Safety Council, and state of Hawaii Harbors 2030 Planning Group and was an Ironman World Championship, American Cancer Society Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity volunteer. He was also the recipient of Richard Smart Community Achievement Award 2004.
A memorial service begins at 2 p.m. June 23 at the Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Harbor.
He is survived by wife, Jana Troute; sisters, Denese Fierro, Elisa Troute, Leslie (Brian) Hole.
