Lanihau Center will host its final Cruise Night of 2013 from 6 until 9 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot fronting Palani Road. Show lighting provided by Transmission Technology will illuminate the lot. The free event is open to all types of vehicles, from classics to imports, hot rods and sports and muscle cars. Classic cars from Hilo and the Volkswagen club are expected to make an appearance at this event.
The showcased nonprofit for the event is the West Hawaii Explorations Academy. Students will demonstrate their basketball shooting and Frisbee throwing robots. Renderings of the school’s proposed new campus will be displayed.
Brad Freeman will be emcee the event, playing classic rock music and conducting prize giveaways every 30 minutes. A “muffler optional” lap around the parking lots begins at 7:30 p.m.
