Heaven and Earth talk set Friday at
the Dragonfly Ranch
International Sacred Geometry teacher and healer, Patricia Athena, accompanied by astrologer and teacher, Kathryn Andren Mina will discuss “Earth Grid Activations and Galactic Alignments” 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Dragonfly Ranch in Honaunau.
The women will give a multimedia presentation that includes ancient Earth wisdom, Earth grids in Egypt, Bali and Singapore, current astrology news, a deeper understanding of galactic alignment and sound and heart opening healing meditation.
The introductory talk is free, although Athena suggested a donation of $11 to $33, and open to the public.
A “Kwan Yin and Dolphin Healing” workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the ranch for people who want more information on the esoteric concepts. A donation of $88 is suggested.
Athena said she has a profound connection with the Goddess Kwan Yin and has been given a special healing modality to find balance with the changing earth energies. This modality involves the interface of the endocrine glands and the energy centers of the body. Founder of “Dolphinwave and the Athena Isis Mystery School,” Athena is an international speaker, workshop leader, therapist and meditation teacher who leads retreats in Hawaii and Bali. Her teaching background has given her the multifaceted skills to work with individuals and groups.

Cream of the Crop competition slated for Saturday
The Kona Coffee Council will host the 10th annual Cream of the Crop coffee and dessert tasting competition 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai’s Haku Amphitheater. Admission is free.
Twenty-one Kona coffee growers will have booths in the amphitheater, providing sample cups of their brewed coffee along with education about coffee growing and processing. Each coffee grower will have their own roasted coffee beans for sale. The competition is divided into three categories of coffee growing: organic, estate and open.
To complement the coffee, chefs from local restaurants and resorts as well as amateurs will present desserts made with Kona coffee as one of the ingredients for visitors to sample.
Visitors may vote for their favorite coffee in the three categories. Chefs will vote for their favorites as well, so visitors can see how their votes compare to those of professionals. The desserts will be judged by an expert panel of chefs. The results of the voting will be announced before the end of the day.
Artists will offer demonstrations and sell coffee-related products.
The event is sponsored by the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Kamehameha Schools and the Kona Coffee Council.
ACS ‘I Can Cope’ class Saturday in Kona
An American Cancer Society I Can Cope class is slated from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the first-floor conference room at the Kaiser Permanente Kona Clinic, 75-184 Hualalai Road.
Participants will discuss nutrition, good eating habits, strategies for managing problems and concerns, and recommendations for healthy eating habits.
Registration is required and open to the public regardless of insurance provider. Materials will be provided; the class is free. Call the American Cancer Society office at 935-9763 to register.
Kona Aerials plans Vegas Night fundraiser
The Kona Aerials Gymnastics Club presents Vegas Night from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Hale Halawai. For $15 in advance or $20 at the door, attendees receive 100 chips to start the night. Games include black jack, Texas hold ‘em, slots, roulette and Wheel of Fortune. A silent auction is also planned.
The fundraiser helps offset travel expenses for the nonprofit gymnastics club. Call 329-4343 for tickets.
Seminar offered on ‘Real Love’ principles
Sharon Winningham, a certified Real Love coach, is offering an interactive seminar 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hawaiian Queen Coffee Gardens.
“Replacing Fear and Confusion with Peace and Confidence” is the seminar theme. The session looks at how to improve relationships with partners, children, friends and associates.
Winningham will share with students the principles taught by interpersonal relationship expert Greg Baer at reallove.com. These principles apply in a variety of relationships — dating, marriage, friendship, parenting and the workplace — and are geared to help attendees understand how to nurture relationships of greater peace and love.
