Valentina “Tina” Mahuna, 86, of Waimea died Aug. 29, 2013, at her residence. Born Oct. 5, 1926, in Laupahoehoe, she was a retired cook at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and an employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Waimea. She was a member of Alu Like.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. Sept. 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 10 a.m. Mass. The family requests casual attire be worn and flowers are welcome. Burial to follow at Kukaiau County Cemetery.
She is survived by son, Calvert Mahuna, of Waimea; daughters, Valarie Santos, of Reno, Nev., and Iris (Wayne) Boteilho, of Paauilo; hanai son, Bert (Carol) Imada, of Honokaa; hanai daughter, Violet Nobriga, of Kalopa; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Ruth Navalta, Lucy (David) Meyer and Ruby, of Hilo, Mary Alfiler, of Paauilo, Beatrice (Sonny) Narte, of Calif.; brother, Thomas Ynigues, of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
