Living Arts Gallery in Hawi will host a public reception for member artist Ginger Anne Sandell from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 20. Sandell works primarily in oil, both plein air and in her studio. Several of Sandell’s new works are on display during her solo show at the gallery through Oct. 4.
Sandell paints in an impressionist, abstract style where line, color and form may vary from a more realistic portrayal of the world. She said she wants the visual image to connect with people emotionally and hopes to bring beauty, wonder and joy to the viewer. Sandell believes creativity has both a tactile and spiritual nature; her art is her meditation.
The gallery at 55-3435 Akoni Pule Highway is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
