A brown water advisory has been issued for waters surrounding all of the Hawaiian Islands because of the effects of Tropical Storm Iselle.
Although the flood and storm water runoff may not be brown, the public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff because of possible overflowing cesspools, sewer manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris, according to the Hawaii Department of Health.
Turbid water runoff has been known to attract sharks due to possible dead animals being washed into the ocean. If coastal waters are brown, stay out.
