CAMP SMITH, Oahu — The commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces in the Pacific is upholding the life sentence and dishonorable discharge of a Marine convicted of murdering a Las Vegas prostitute in Hawaii.
Master Sgt. Nathaniel Cosby was convicted in April of murder in the 2013 killing of Ivanice “Ivy” Harris in a Waikiki hotel room.
The Marine Corps said this week the case will be reviewed by an appellate office.
Cosby’s lawyers argued he killed Harris in self-defense.
Harris was originally from Oregon, visiting Hawaii to celebrate her 29th birthday with her boyfriend, who was also her pimp.
Cosby was in Hawaii on a temporary assignment from Japan.
He’s confined at the U.S. Military Disciplinary Barracks in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. It’s the Department of Defense’s only maximum security correctional facility.
