WAILUKU — Three people were arrested after allegedly selling stolen Maui bus passes online.
Maui police say an investigation last month revealed that stolen $4 Maui bus passes were being sold on a social media site for $2.
Police arranged to meet at the Queen Kaahumanu Center to purchase the bus passes. That’s where a plain clothes officer arrested 23-year-old Cole Santiago of Wailuku.
Police later arrested 53-year-old Anthony Davis of Wailuku and 23-year-old Mikail Honokaupu of Waiehu for their involvement in selling the stolen passes.
Officers recovered 31 passes valued at $124.
All three are charged with third-degree theft. They have been released on bail.
They couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Monday. It’s not clear if they have attorneys.
