Kailua Village pipeline work to close Alii Drive at night

Hawaii Gas will be performing maintenance work to its underground pipeline that will require the closure of both lanes of Alii Drive in the Kailua Village area between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Dec. 9 through Dec. 12.

The pipeline work is being conducted near the intersection of Alii Drive and Sarona Road. Motorists must use an alternate route during the closure and should allow extra time to reach their destination, according to the company. Pedestrians are urged to exercise caution near the construction zone. Police will be at the site to conduct traffic.

No loss of service is expected because of the work, according to the company.
