As much as Santa loves the North Pole, even he would have envied the sunny conditions at the Waverider Triathlon Club’s Swim Santa Swim event at Kailua Bay on Saturday.
Kealakehe graduate and University of Idaho swimmer Cara Jernigan was the first to finish the 1500-meter swim at 22:43. She was followed closely by her sister Kelly Jernigan at 22:47, who finished second overall.
Conner Bunnell rounded out the podium at 23:03, while Cody Ranfranz (23:14) and Jim Winegarner (23:19) finished fourth and fifth, respectivley.
In the Keiki 500-meter swim, Avan Becerra took home top honors in 5:07.
