The race is on: More than 2,300 athletes started the longest day of their year at the 2015 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona in picture-perfect conditions. The world’s best professional triathletes and elite age-group athletes are all facing a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a 26.2-mile (42.2 km) marathon run finishing their race on the iconic Alii drive.
