Grammy and multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Jeff Peterson brings you his latest work, “Oahu.”
The 17-track album is a companion piece to his prized album, “Maui on my Mind,” which celebrated Peterson’s roots. “Oahu,” his new release, pays tribute to his current island home. Gathering traditional slack key favorites, island standards and new originals, “Oahu” is a musical journey that richly illustrates why Jeff is one of the most in-demand guitarists in the world, according to distributor Mountain Apple Company.
Peterson currently teaches guitar at the University of Hawaii, is a leading slack key guitar solo recording artists, and is fluent in a variety of guitar styles including jazz and classical. He has performed with Eric Clapton, James Galway, Michael Feinstein, the Honolulu Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre, jazz bassist Rufus Reid, shakuhachi master Riley Lee, soprano Dana Hanchard and many others.
“Oahu” goes on sale Friday (today). It can be purchased online at www.mountainapplecompany.com, or other online retailers, as well as on iTunes.
