Community meeting focuses on highways

State Rep. Cindy Evans and Sen. Lorraine Inouye are hosting a community meeting with the director of the Department of Transportation to discuss highways throughout the Kohala region of Hawaii Island from 5 to 7 tonight at Kahilu Town Hall, in Waimea.

The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. and will provide the opportunity to discuss how the department communicates with the community, what issues are specific to Kohala communities, and how the department makes decisions and decides priorities given the involvement of the federal government.

Attendees are encouraged to submit questions during check-in.
