KAINALIU — Roadwork in Kainaliu is scheduled to finish at noon today, said the Department of Public Works.
Barett Otani, DPW information and education specialist, said the DPW highways division is doing “roadway maintenance” on “identified specific areas” on Mamalahoa Highway between Sandy’s Drive Inn and the Kona Community Hospital.
He did not provide more specific details about the work being conducted in the area.
Work began at 8:30 this morning and should be done at noon, Otani said.
Drivers should still expect delays. Lane closures are possible, he said, bit at least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times.
Otani said the department “apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.”
