The closure is required for Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife routine maintenance of the trail and campground, including proper function of composting toilets, litter pick up, removing fallen trees, and clearing landslides. The maintenance includes the use of herbicide to control invasive plants.
