Lorna Costa

Lorna Mae Costa, 58, of Mountain View and formerly of Waianae died Jan. 26, 2018, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was employed at Pioneer Chicken, Pokai Bay Drive Inn, Makaha Drive Inn, Tesoro, Waianae Coast Dining Hall, Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center Specialty Clinic and Puana Pain Management Clinic and a member of the Waianae Assembly of God.

Friends may call 5–6 p.m. March 3 at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel for a 6 p.m. memorial service. Casual attire.

She is survived by husband, Louis Gabriel Costa, Jr.; sons, Louis “Kaimana” (Melissa) James Costa, Leighton “Ikaika” (Manulani) John Costa; daughters, Roxanna “Mele” Noel Russ, Leilani “Sunshine” Pua Barnes; sisters, Laverne Kaui, Dora Uweloa, Janice (Sunday) Valoroso, Jade (Larry) Rosa, Verna (Stanford) Naehu, Renee (John) Ashby; brothers, Ronadl DeReis, Donald DeReis, Walter (Sabrina) DeReis, Jr., Victor Pascua; six grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Ward Bray

Mr. Ward Kahekili Bray, 62, of Waimea, Hawaii died Nov. 27, 2017 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born on March 5, 1955, in Honolulu, he was a cameraman for KGMB television.

Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. March 3 at the Kamehameha School’s Bishop Memorial Chapel in Honolulu. Memorial service begins at 3 p.m. Casual attire.

He is survived by his mother, Jane Bray of Kauai; brothers, Lono (Linda) Bray and Warner Bray, all of Kauai, Quintin Bray of Oahu; sisters, Kahala (John) Heider-Schiet of Oregon, Sila (Harry) Jim of Pahoa, and Jane Bray of Kauai; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

George Enriquez

George Enriquez, 79, of Keaau, died Feb. 20, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on July 12, 1938, in Pahoa, he was retired from the County of Maui Department of Water Supply, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. March 3 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a memorial Mass begins at 11 a.m. Graveside urn Committal Service will be held at 9 a.m. March 5 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

He is survived by son, Wilfred Enriquez of Maui; daughter, Jennifer (Ronald) Mortel of Las Vegas; brother, Benjamin (Yvonne) Enriquez of Arizona; sister, Elizabeth Konanui of Pahoa; one sister-in-law; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pamela Nee

Pamela Kuuipo Ah Nee, 72, of Hilo, died Feb. 11, 2018, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honolulu, she was retired from the Hawaii State Department of Education as a custodian at Keaukaha Elementary School and a lunch lady at Waiakea Elementary School.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. March 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. Family requests casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Milton Liwai Ah Nee, Jr., Rockne Craig Ah Nee and Rodney Kaiama Ah Nee, Sr. of Hilo; hanai son, Jarred “Kaleo” Ah Nee of Hilo; brothers, Wadsworth (Sharon) Kamaka, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Arthur Kamaka of North Carolina; sister, Momi (Farrel) Cox of Alaska; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Sachiyo Hirano

Mrs. Sachiyo Hirano, age 93, of Kapaau, Kohala, Hawaii, died Jan. 30, 2018, at Hospice Maui in Wailuku, Maui. Born Oct. 9, 1924, in Kamuela, she was a homemaker.

Friends may call 10-11 a.m. March 4 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. memorial service. Casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Rendell (Norma M.H. Matsumoto) Hirano of Kealakekua and Elmer (Debbie) Hirano of Kaneohe; daughter, Raelene (Don) Kleeman of Kula; sister, Wendy Oye of Kamuela; one sister-in-law; three grandchildren; a nephew and two nieces.

Helene Suganuma

Helene “Blue”May Iwalani Suganuma, 88, of Hilo, died Feb. 10, 2018. Born May 6, 1929, in Lanai, she was retired administration clerk.

Services will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 4 at Ballard Family Mortuary, 570 Kinoole St. Hilo. No flowers, no koden.

She is survived by husband, Herbert Suganuma; sons, Richard (Kim) Suganuma of Hilo, Nathan (Tommie) Suganuma of Hilo; daughters, Dee (Kevin) Hedlund of Hilo, Diana Suganuma of Waimea, Debbie (D.Kelly Worsencroft) Suganuma of Arizona; twin sister, Harriet “Pinkie” Mariani of Honolulu; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.

Herbert Leong, Jr.

Herbert Akana Leong, Jr., 72, of Waimea, died Jan. 3, 2018, at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired security guard for Hilton Waikoloa Village, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and member of Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club.

Visitation from 8-9:30 a.m. March 10 at the Mana Christian Ohana Church in Waimea, 67-1182 Lindsey Road., for a 9:30 a.m. celebration of life.

Urn committal service follows at 12:30 p.m. at Imiola Church Cemetery in Waimea, Church Row. Family requests casual attire.

He is survived by daughters, Kristen (Alvin Jr.) Castro of Waimea, Erin (Adam) Pedro of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Craig (Kelly) Leong of Waimea; brother, George Leong of Honolulu; sister, Naomi Kaleopu of Honolulu; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Myron Okubo

Myron Tekeji Okubo, 66, of Kohala, died Feb. 19, 2018, in Kohala. Born in Kohala, he was a retired mason foreman and member of Kohala Hongwanji Mission and Hawaii Masons Union Local 1.

Friends may call at noon March 10 at Kohala Hongwanji Mission in Kapaau for a 2 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Debra “Debbie” Okubo of Kohala; daughter, Kelli Okubo of Waimea; son, Rick (Kaimi) Okubo of Waimea; grandson, Kahoku; granddaughters, Aulii and Pomaikai; numerous nieces and nephews.

Masayo Yamashita

Mrs. Masayo Yamashita, 89, of Captain Cook, died Feb. 5, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 12, 1928, in Kainaliu, she was a teller at Finance Factors Savings and Loan Company. She was a member of Lifewater Church (formerly Central Kona Union) and Hanei Kumiai.
