Honaunau residents urged to lock doors amid police activity

KAILUA-KONA — Police are urging residents in the area of Honaunau School to lock their doors and stay inside amid police activity in the area.

If residents see any suspicious activity they are urged to call police immediately at 911.

The Nixle alert comes after police confirmed early Thursday evening that they’re pursuing a vehicle they think is carrying a fugitive sought for allegedly shooting and killing a Puna patrol officer Tuesday evening.

The pursuit of a man believed to be Justin Joshua Waiki was picked up by Kona patrol. At last report, officers were chasing a pickup truck up Middle Keei Road from the mauka side of Highway 11.

Police say they stopped the 33-year-old Waiki, who was wanted on an arrest warrant at about 9:47 p.m. Tuesday at the side of Highway 11 in Mountain View. Waiki allegedly got out of the car and shot Officer Bronson K. Kaliloa in the neck and leg.

It’s too bad it is so hard for law abiding people in this state to have their own home protection.

The police can’t even protect themselves. How are they going to protect mine and yours? It’s probably best to shoot and see if the cops show up. If not roll them up in some old carpet an toss them in to the drink off Southpoint right at High Tide.

Actually, I have plenty of home protection, it is the away from home that is a sore point.

Police is not for protection, but to come after the incident to write the report. The police can barely defend themselves like we saw this week.

That is the reason we have the 2A. The founding fathers were brilliant, but the new brainwashed generation just parrot what the liberal plantation overlords taught them in public indoctrination centers.

The bad guys will always have guns even if you have one thousand laws against them. Laws are ONLY for law abiding citizens. Crooks (in power and without power) don’t like the law abiding citizens to have guns.
