Hawaii News Now reports the campus in Kahului is expecting more than 2,000 students, including about 600 freshmen.
Principal Jamie Yap says the school has shuffled its classes and re-examined its academics to find enough space.
The school has found space by removing its daycare center and setting up portable buildings to use as classrooms.
Yap says the campus has more than 30 portables. Some of the buildings were expected to be removed when Kihei High School is constructed, but the project has been delayed.
The state expects the first phase of the new school to be completed by August 2021.
