2 carriers seek Waimea-Kohala Airport contract
KAILUA-KONA — In response to a federal request for proposals from the U.S. Department of Transportation, two air carriers are vying to offer federally subsidized flights out of the Waimea-Kohala Airport.

It’s such a desired airport the Government need to subsidize it (to the tune of) $397,457.00 (tax payer money) and charge you too. Can’t fill up a Cessna 9 seater x 12 a day. Not to worry when the Socialist run things in the state will be low to no cost and payed for by the government. ~sarc~
But . . . but . . . it’s like an hour’s drive from Keahole, and besides, who needs to fly directly into Waimea? There’s nothing in Waimea, it’s a two blocks from the highway village with a couple of grocery stores. Makes no sense, but what else is new.
