KAILUA-KONA — Bath & Body Works is opening in Kailua-Kona.

The personal care retailer is slated to open in late April at Kona Commons off Makala Boulevard, the shopping center’s owners The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group announced Tuesday.

The store is slated to open at the end of April.

“I’m so excited it is coming. I have shopped at the one in Oahu. I like it very much,” Noriko Carter of Kona said while walking through Kona Commons.

Bath & Body Works will be housed in the former unit of Jeans Warehouse, which moved just a few doors up to another unit in recent months. It is the second Bath & Body Works location to open on Hawaii Island, following the opening of a store at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo back in November.

“As a retailer that has seen an incredible amount of success across the islands, Bath & Body Works is an exciting addition that rounds out the diverse offerings at Kona Commons,” said Patrick Kobayashi, president and CEO of Kobayashi Group. “Our goal is to create a destination that reflects the best of island living. We strive to bring much-desired retailers to the Kona area, while cultivating an exciting mix of shopping, dining and lifestyle amenities for our residents and guests to the Islands.”

Kona Commons comprises 20 national and locally owned shops and restaurants that range from daily services to sidewalk cafes and fashion boutiques. The addition of Bath & Body Works will bring yet another favorite retail option to the shopping destination, the shopping center said in a press release.

As one of the world’s leading specialty retailers of fashion fragrance for both body and home, Bath & Body Works offers customers pampering products, fragrances and gifts for every occasion. The new store will also feature a White Barn candle shop within the store, featuring the world’s best candles, home fragrances and other accessories, the release said.
