Merriman’s Culinary Scholarship available
Merriman’s, home of Hawaii regional cuisine, is offering $1,000 scholarships to full-time students graduating high school or attending Hawaii Community College at Hilo, University of Hawaii Center at West Hawaii, Maui Community College, or Kauai Community College who are in need of financial age. Students must enroll as a full-time student with the food service program. Up to three scholarships will be available. To apply, see your school counselor; application deadline is April 12.

Kona CAP wins state color guard competition
Kona Civil Air Patrol cadets took home first place in the Hawaii state color guard competition, and will be sending three of its cadets to the national competition to be held in California this summer. To that end, Kona CAP is hosting a baked goods fundraiser, 5-8 p.m. at the Waikoloa KTA, to help pay the cadets’ travel expenses.
Come grab some baked goodies and learn more about Civil Air Patrol and the cadets who will become future leaders in the military and aerospace programs.
