Those perished include Teruo Fujioka, Yoshio Tengwan, Tomosu Hirahara, George Suyama, Bob Kameoka, Joseph Byre, Edward Ogawa, Mitsulu Miyoko, Minoru Yoshida, Hachiro Mukai, Uetaro Sanmonji, Ben Rogers and Hideo Yasui.
The dignitaries gathered to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the towns of Bruyeres, Biffontaine and Belmont and the freeing of the Texas Lost Battalion during the final days of World War II.
