Alfred Pacatang Sr., 74, of Kailua-Kona, died June 29, 2020 at his residence. Born March 30, 1946, in Kealakekua, he was a sous chef at the Mauna Lani Resorts and King Kamehameha‘s Kona Beach Hotel, a chef at the Tropics Restaurant and Will’s Snack Shop

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by companion, Patricia Segovia of Waimea; son, Alfred (Alessa) Pacatang Jr. of Las Vegas; daughter, Tina (Lephi) Pacatang Kaluau Taetuna of Kailua-Kona, Pamora (Allen) San Nicolas of Henderson, NV; brothers, Querico (Laurie) Pacatang and Gaudens (Davey) Girbisi of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Linda (Peter) Lindsey, Carol (Joe) Tina of Kailua-Kona, and Dionysia (Robert) Kamaka of Keopu; hanai son, Ralph Lau of Waimea; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

William Hart Jr.

William “Bill” Joseph Hart Jr., 84 of Waimea, died July 4, 2020 in Waimea. Born Feb 25, 1936, in Quincy, MA, he was a U.S. Marine and a real estate appraiser.

He is survived by daughters, Erin (Brandon) Block of Waimea, Michele Hart of Wisconsin, Elena (Vernon) Woo of Honolulu, Danielle (Cora Woodward) Hart of Los Angeles, Kimberly Hart of Honolulu; sister Patricia Hart of Massachusetts; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Edwin Cayetano

Edwin Tabian Cayetano, 57, of Waikoloa, died April 13, 2020 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Honolulu on April 10, 1963, he was a waiter at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. July 24 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo; funeral service begins at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Alae County Cemetery. The family requests casual attire.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Cayetano; son, Dominic Cayetano, and daughter, Eileen Cayetano, all of Waikoloa; sisters, Vickma (Robinson) Peria of Canada, Ruby (Sidney) Tabura, and brother, Glenn (Angel) Cayetano of Philippines; a grandson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Matthew Gomes

Matthew Keliiholokai Gomes, 60, of Hilo, died June 25, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 4, 1960, in Honolulu, he was the owner of Mangotree Mechanic’s and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by wife, Nancy Blanchard; stepsons, Isaac (Cristina) Blanchard, Joseph Blanchard; sisters, Elizabeth (Donald) Leopoldino, Marleen (Glen) Keanu, Victoria Naeole, Mabel (Bryan) Ho, Lynn (Drake) Miyasato; brothers, William (Jill) Ma-e, Henry (Jackie) Ma-e, John (Emily) Ma-e, Maliano (Sharon) Keliiholokai, John (Vanessa) Keliiholokai, Solomon (Mingtoy) Keliiholokai; two step-sons, two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Bryan Ward

Bryan Fenton Ward, 45, of Kailua-Kona, died June 17, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 24, 1975 in Honokaa, he was a cook for Pine Tree Café and numerous hotels and restaurants.

He is survived by parents, Douglas and Paulette Ward, Jr.; companion, Iris Akao; children, Shanika Tozer all of Kailua-Kona, Shaniah Tozer of Honolulu, Brock Akao-Ward; brother, Douglas WardIII both of Kailua-Kona; a granddaughter; and numerous nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Nobuyuki Fukuda

Nobuyuki Fukuda, 94, of Redmond, WA, and formerly of Captain Cook, died June 19, 2020. Born in Captain Cook, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Honolulu, was a coffee farmer, and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.

Private services will be held at a later date at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl Cemetery).
