Hawaii Island Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 24-year-old, Espernanzania “Hope” Hernandez. She was last seen in the Mountain View area and has not been seen or heard from since Saturday, Oct. 24 at approximately 11:00 am.

Eight more COVID-19 cases for Big Island, 77 total in state
Eight new Hawaii Island and 60 Oahu cases were among 77 positive results announced by the Hawaii COVID-19 Joint Information Center as of noon Thursday, bringing the statewide tally to 14,911 since Feb. 28. Of the remaining cases, three were on Lanai and one on Kauai. One previous case from Maui was removed and added to Lanai due to updated laboratory information.
Program created for displaced workers
The Department of Business, Economic Development &Tourism announced nonprofit organizations, the private sector and government have joined together to launch a program using federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act funding to support Hawaii’s economy by matching businesses with up to 650 workers who have been displaced in the current economic crisis.
Coffee leaf rust hits Hawaii Island
