Arnoldroy Kaeo


Arnoldroy Keaumoku Kaeo, 67, of Hilo, died Oct. 3, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born June 25, 1953, in Hilo, he was a boiler technician III for the U.S. Navy and served during Vietnam.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at Dodo Mortuary’s upper carport for a drive-through visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by sons, David (Crystal Rezentes) Kaeo and Nathan (Keysha Neves) Kaeo; brother, George (Linda) Kaeo; mother of sons, Betty Kaeo; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stephen DiFolco

Stephen Robert DiFolco, 64, of Mountain View, died Oct. 8, 2020, at Pohai Malama in Hilo. Born in 1956, he was a truck driver and former sugar cane truck driver for Haamoka Schofield Courier.

Memorial services will be held in Hilo and Oahu at a later date; contact family for details.

He is survived by wife, Antoinette DiFolco; step-daughter, Kim Keola; mother, Ann DiFolco; sisters, Mary Ann Lui, Theresa DiFolco, and Danielle Chong; brother, Michael DiFolco; nephews, nieces, uncles, and aunts.

Doris Torigoe

Doris Mitsuyo Torigoe, 79, of Hilo, died Oct. 9, 2020, at her residence in Hilo. Born April 11, 1941, in Hilo, she formerly worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Queen’s and Hilo hospitals, retired as a kitchen helper at the former Woolworth’s Restaurant and Nihon Restaurant in Hilo and was a member of the Higashi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

Private services held. The family requests no flowers or koden (monetary offerings).

She is survived by sons, Grant Torigoe of Honolulu and Dean (Pamela) Torigoe of Hilo; daughter, Grace (Layne) Funai of Hilo; brother, James (Kay) Takemura of Honolulu; sister, Lillian Takemura of Hilo; three grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Michael Echavez

Michael Joseph Echavez, 82, of Paauilo, passed away on October 16, 2020 at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born in 1938 in Paauilo, he was a retired equipment operator for Hamakua Sugar Company and a security guard for Securitas.

Private services held. The family requests no flowers or koden (monetary offerings).

He is survived by wife, Amy Echavez of Paauilo; son, Jason Michael (Becky) Echavez of Twin Falls, Idaho; step-son, Mark (Tammy) Oishi of Hilo; step-daughters, Patricia Kamanu and Linda (Raymond) Silva, all of Hilo; brother, Thomas (Peggy) Echavez of California; sisters, Betty Dosremedios and Miriam Saito, both of Honokaa; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Millicent Aludino

Millicent “Penny” Napua Kaoo Aludino, 67, of Hawi, died Oct. 23, 2020, at her residence. Born in Kohala, she was the owner and cook of the former Sonny’s Place in Hawi and a member of the Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Aludino residence, 55-417 Lower Hawi Road, for a drive-through vistitation and from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Saragosa residence, 55-1113 Aina Ui Road. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Nov. 7 at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Urn committal to follow in the Hawi Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.


She is survived by sons, Desi (Trisha) Saragosa of Hilo and Aaron (Holani) Saragosa of Kohala; daughters, Charmaine (Dean) Saragosa of Kohala, CarlaRose (Donnavan) Saragosa of Wahiawa, Oahu, and Erika (Crystal) Saragosa of Tennessee; brothers, Roy (Tina) Izumi of California, Hiram Sam Kaoo and Guy Fletcher Kaoo of Hilo and David Kaoo of Kohala; sisters, Rachel (Jerry) Murai-Wilson, Barbara Izumi, Jan Kaoo, and Sarah (Keoni) Lavea, all of Kohala, Janet Lindsey of Waimea and Shirley (Ed) Kawashima of Honolulu; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
