Choose wisely
To those who are thinking about skipping the vaccine, a word of caution. Though the death rate can seem to be low, COVID-19 can make your life miserable . A study of over 1,000 people who were hospitalized and survived to discharge showed that two months after discharge 40% were still unable to return to work. Among all discharged patients, 15% were re-hospitalized and 7% had died. Remember, people who are vaccinated rarely need hospitalization for COVID-19. Choose wisely.

Kudos to Kona hospital
Last Thursday, we received our first doses of the COVID vaccine at Kona Community Hospital. Granted, one needed a bit of tenacity to reach a real person via the dedicated call-center but once that was accomplished, it was smooth sailing. From making the appointment, being directed to a parking spot upon arrival, registration and a short orientation to the actual injection, the entire process was completed with precision, efficiency, bright smiles and ample aloha. Mahalo nui loa to the entire team.
