Statewide, 91 new cases were reported on Saturday by the Department of Health. Oahu reported 74 of those cases, Maui County seven and Kauai two. Two residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
Since the end of last February, 33,126 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
Over the past two weeks, the Big Island has reported 63 cases, or an average of 4.5 cases per day. Twenty-four of those cases were reported in Kailua-Kona and 12 in Hilo.
The Big Island had a 0.7% positivity rate on Saturday, below the statewide average of 1.6%
On Friday, a total of 54 patients with the virus were in Hawaii hospitals with two reported on the Big Island.
One new coronavirus-related death on Oahu was reported by the state on Saturday. Of the 487 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 377 were on Oahu, 52 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
60,771 or 38% of the Big Island population 18 years and over have completed their vaccination with 79,080 or 50% initiating the shot.
