Four new COVID-19 cases brings Big Island tally to 3,142

Four new COVID-19 cases were reported by state health officials Monday on the Big Island, bringing the total case tally to 3,142.

Statewide, 56 new cases were reported by the Department of Health with 21 of those cases on Oahu, 14 in Maui County and seven on Kauai. Ten cases were among residents diagnosed out of state.

Since the end of last February, 37,067 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.

The Big Island had a 3.1% seven-day positivity rate, over the state’s 1% positivity rate on Monday. Over the last 14 days, 192 cases have been reported on the Big Island. Over the past week, the island has reported an average of 14 cases per day.

No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported on Monday. Of the 506 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 392 were on Oahu, 55 were on Maui, 54 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
