Floria May Kaanohimakaokala Mokuahi, 56, of Waikoloa, Hawaii died July 3, 2021 in Waikoloa. Born Jan. 23, 1965, in Kealakekua, she was a reservationist at the Hilton Resort.

She is survived by spouse, Gabriel; daughter Danori (Christopher) Villanueva of Waikoloa; sons, Gabriel Mokuahi Jr. of Riverside, CA, and Cyrus Mokuahi of Waikoloa; daughter, Jaelin Mokuahi of Waikoloa; parents, Suetaka and Victoria Fukunaga of Kailua-Kona; brother, Sheldon (Heather) Fukunaga of Las Vegas; sisters, Sharmaine Fukunaga, Sherlyn (Steve) Loyola and Suelyn Fukunaga, all of Kailua-Kona; and one grandchild.

Thelma Kalilikane
Thelma Kuuleialohahualani Kalilikane, 75, of Holualoa, died July 23, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 7, 1946, in Waianae, Oahu, she was a caretaker at The Regency at Hualalai.

She is survived by companion, William Manuel of Holualoa; sons, Jason Kalilikane of Holualoa and Moses (Leanne) Kalilikane of Kealakekua; sister, Mary Kiko of Honolulu; two granddaughters; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanie Jara
Jeanie Libunao Jara, 49, of Pahala, died July 30, 2021, at her residence. Born Jan. 6, 1972, in the Philippines, she was a nut picker and factory worker for MacFarms of Hawaii and a member of the Assembly of God in Ka‘u.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 14 at Naalehu Hongwanji Mission Church in Ka‘u for a 10 a.m. service. Burial at Naalehu Community Cemetery at noon.
She is survived by husband, Judy Jara of Pahala; daughters, Jennifer (Jonathan) Navarro and Janessa (Dedrick Saplan) Jara of Pahala, and Joan (Mike) Alexander of Honolulu; sons, Jezekial Jara and Jysen Jara of Pahala; parents, Graciano and Cornelia Libunao of Pahala; brothers, Orlando (Chita) Libunao of Naalehu, Frando (Angelina) Libunao and Gil Libunao of Pahala, and Arneil (Claire Martinez) Libunao of Volcano; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mark Kenji Sakata, 58, died May 14, 2021, in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Hilo, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an aircraft maintenance technician for Aloha Airlines in Honolulu and Southwest Airlines at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

He is survived by sisters, Charlene (Henry) Shinohara, Rachel (Lerbert) Ancheta, Laureen (David) Masukawa, and Adrienne (Patrick) Sugimoto; brothers, Brian (Cynthia) Sakata, and Ian (Lori) Sakata; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gail Leiko Yoneoka, 59, of Hilo, died July 14, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 12, 1961, in Hilo, she was a member of Soka Gakkai International-USA.

Richard Hanano
Richard Noboru Hanano, 95, of Waimea, died July 23, 2021, at his residence. Born in Kohala, he was a retired station manager for Hawaiian Airlines in Kona, retired president for Hanano Nursery, member of the Kamuela Hongwanji Mission, Kamuela Lions Club and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by sons, Michael (Jane) Hanano and Leslie (Manu) Hanano, all of Waimea, and Ricky (Sylvia) Hanano of Kona; daughter, Marvis Hanano of Kona; brother, James Hanano of Kohala; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy Tamane
Roy Toshiharu Tamane, 78, of Hilo, died July 12, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Sept. 27, 1942, in Hilo, he was a retired carpenter from M. Sonomura Contracting Co., worked for Constructors Hawaii Inc., Isemoto Contracting Co., and K. Iwashita Contractor, and was also an aviation mechanic, U.S. Army veteran, fisherman and member of the Carpenters Union Local 745.
