Nursing scholarships awarded
The Kona Community Hospital Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship Committee has selected the recipients for the 2021-2022 academic year KCH Auxiliary nursing scholarships.
After reviewing application packets, conducting interviews and after careful consideration, the committee identified three deserving recipients. They are Leilani Moody, Abigail Calo, and Chantel Espiritu, who was awarded the annual Ford-Kimura Scholarship.
In addition, three scholarships were awarded to returning second-year nursing students, John Paz, Nicole Kailipaka and Ha’aheo Sai. These students originally received scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year and maintained excellent grade point averages, qualifying them for second year scholarships.
A total of $12,000 in scholarships was awarded this year. The Kona Community Hospital Auxiliary’s Nursing Scholarship Committee has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to worthy applicants over the years.
