The pandemic brings out the wisdom and the wackiness in us all, especially the wackiness.
Those unenlightened and misled souls who refuse to get vaccinated are dropping like flies off a wall. Almost all of the world-wide deaths by COVID-19 are those unvaccinated. Still they fail to make the connection.
They claim it is their personal right to go down with the sinking ship. Idiotic but true.
And these are the half-way coherent ones with a fraction of reasoning ability.
Many anti-vaxers have lost their reasoning ability, actually they’ve lost it altogether.
Perusing a social media site turned up some bizarre reasons for refusing the vaccine.
Beginning with the standard wackiness that the covid shot inserts a computer chip into your body so the government can track your every move. Go ahead and track me driving to Walmart and back home in front of the TV. Real intrigue.
Next is the familiar list from the anti-vaxers handbook that claims the shot makes you infertile, alters your DNA and, the ever popular wacky fact that, the vaccine gives you COVID.
Sound crazy? Not by a long shot. Shot, now there’s a pun for you.
It’s crazy but more and more refusers are claiming the vaccine makes your whole body magnetic. One anti-vaxer posted a photo of his metal comb stuck to his arm where he got the shot. It gets worse, you are now entering the Twilight Zone, or the Covid Zone.
A “sensible”soul down in Florida seriously says that after the shot he’s been stuck to his refrigerator for 3 days, and metal objects in his home are moving toward him. He sure convinced me.
The beat goes on. A caring mother gave us some vauable medical advice. She said if your kid gets vaccinated, not to worry. To counteract the effects of the evil vaccine just hold a raw potato where the needle entered your child’s arm and it will draw out all the toxins in the shot. Thanks mom, pass the potatoes.
The religious groups are getting into the act. In more than one posting on the net the evangalistic Christians tell us if you get the COVID shot you will instantly go down to you-now-where. It’s in the Bible.
And of course the Bible written 1,800 years ago predicted the pandemic exactly to the month and year it would start up. It’s in Revelations you can read all about it, a little vague, but it’s there somewhere.
Another expert on non-vaccination tells us that the shot will turn you into a Zombie.
Not all anti-vaxers are so crazy, the rest have sensible-sounding reasons but are still wrong and causing pain and suffering with their refusal to protect us all.
Trust me, the shot won’t turn you into human magnet or a zombie. There is no computer chip, you won’t go to hell or need a potato to rub on your arm.
Don’t listen to the peanut gallery, get the shot. I’ve had all three and it feels like brushing your arm with a feather, it’s nothing and means everything.
Don’t ask, wear the mask. Go easy, the new year will be all clear.
