Konawaena defeats Hilo 51-0 for second straight BIIF Division I title

The Konawaena Wildcats handily defeated the Hilo Vikings Saturday evening to claim the team’s second straight BIIF Division I title.

The Wildcats did not allow the Vikings into the end zone in their 51-0 victory at Julian R. Yates Field in Kealakekua.

With the win, Konawaena advances to the Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Football Championships on Oahu Nov. 11 to 26. The Division I championship is slated Nov. 25 and the Division II championship Nov. 26.

Brackets had yet to be set as of press-time Saturday.
