Keep ‘em coming
Just loved the futsal tournament story by Rani Henderson. Please pass my comments on to this reporter. Her action photos really captured the kids’ joy as well as the skills they are learning. It was wonderful to see the pictures of the beaming champions and their coaches.
In addition, it was great to hear about the different teams who participated, the parents who committed to carrying their children through the practices, and the wonderful work and organization of the Mini Big, with the sponsorship of Hawaii Rush, and sanctioning of the HYSA.

Keep these stories coming!! This is the kind of acknowledgment that keeps our kids participating and caring about something bigger than themselves. Participation builds self- esteem, confidence, not to mention the social skills like sportsmanship, how act in team play, and empathy and respect for others. Your paper and Rani have certainly done a great deal to celebrate the development of these future young athletes and Hawaii citizens!

Don’t feel guilty about
taxing the wealthy
First the rich should not pay anything but their fair share. Which is 37% of taxable income. The problem lies in what is taxable income? Which I have yet to see Democrats or Republicans address. But what’s really wrong with this editorial? The onerous idea that more government (which adds cost) is the only answer. That the amount of waste and fraud is not addressed ($100 billion COVID fraud). And let’s not forget our biggest drain is defense spending where waste is legendary. So unless you address spending no amount of revenue will be enough which the author has totally missed
