Michael Shigeto Imaino, 64, of Kurtistown, died Jan. 11, 2023, in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Plant Manager for Fuku-Bonsai, member of Hilo Bonsai Club and an avid cook, fisherman and amateur radio operator. Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers. He is survived by sisters, Terry (Calvin J. Fukuhara) Imaino and Dr. Lei (Trent Hata) Imaino-Hata of Hilo; niece, Tori Jane Hata; aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
Toshiharu Sato, 93, of Captain Cook, Hawaii died on January 20, 2023 at Saito Adult Foster Care in Kealakekua. Born in Kona, Hawaii on March 6, 1929, he was a coffee farmer and carpenter. He is survived by his brother, Raymond Sato of Honolulu and Gary (Nancy) Sato of California; sister, Chikae (Masakatsu) Tsukahara and Elaine (Toshio) Hirano, all of Captain Cook and Norma Oshiro of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon Lei Lorraine Balai, 76, of Waimea, died March 6 at home. She was born in Hakalau and was a former bartender and was well known for her Hawaiian Quilts, having her work displayed in books and museums nationwide. She was also a member of the Ka Hui Kapa Apana O’Waimea quilt club. Private services will be held. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca (Peter) Piilani of Anchorage, Alaska, Melissa (Roy) Antonio of Kailua-Kona and Vicki Kaiue of Waimea; son, Scott Kaiue of Waimea; sisters, Elizabeth Thomas of Waimea, Christine McDougal of Honolulu, Donna Bento of Hilo, Marjorie Bento of Kona and Ramona (Hurshley) Alani of Pahoa; brothers, Elvis Bento of California and Andrew Bento of Kona; eight grandchildren, numerous great-granchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Reynaldo Lawrence Fernandez, 35, of Kailua- Kona passed away on March 8, 2023, at Kona Hospital. Born in Hilo on June 12, 1987, he was a chef at Kukio Golf &Beach Club. Eustaquia Sayaboc Sajor, 92, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii died March 9, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in the Philippines on September 28, 1930, she was a coffee and macadamia nut farmer. A celebration of life services will be held at a later date. She is survived by her son, Noli (Jeanett) Sajor and daughter, Gloria Ulibas, both of Kailua Kona; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Roque Sayaboc and sister, Concepcion Sayaboc, both of the Philippines. Chris David Godoy, 68, of Hawi, died March 13, 2023, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Kona Coffee Villas, had worked for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company and was a member of the Big Island Volkswagen Club. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. April 15, 2023 at Spencer Beach Park pavilion for a Celebration of Life. Family requests beach attire be worn. He is survived by wife, Anita Poligratis Godoy of Hawi; children, Chris Daniel (Shelly) Godoy and Kristalin “Tee” (James Bach) Godoy of Hawi, Christan “Gary” (Sonnette) Godoy of Hilo; siblings, Margaret “Mugs” (Roy) Nuniez and Lorraine Summons of Hilo, 12 grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ichiyo Yamamoto, 88, of Kaneohe and formerly of Papaikou, died March 14, 2023 in Honolulu. She was born in Hilo and was a retired floor supervisor for the former Hilo Macaroni Factory. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary donations). Survived by daughters, Sandra K. Yamamoto of Kaneohe, Lynne J. (Miles) Nagata of Papaikou and Cindy M. (Ricky) Takeya of Las Vegas; son, Sheldon M. Michael John Feeney, 74, of Kailua-Kona died March 18, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Beaumont, Texas on December 19, 1948, he was a retired teacher. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, a board member of the Kona Education Center, member of Malulani Gardens Association and avid orchid grower. He is survived by his sister, Kathy LeTourneau and niece, Lauren LeTourneau, both of Kansas City, Missouri. Also survived by many friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Claudette Ann Revilla, 75, of Pahoa, died March 21, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born on September 17, 1947 in Hilo, Hawaii. She was a homemaker. Private services at a later date. Dennis Tadashi Fukuchi, 75, of Hilo, died March 22, 2023, at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired electronics technician, had also worked at the Lyman Museum as a caretaker and a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. Private services were held.
