Betty Yuriko Tirado, 93, of Kailua-Kona died July 31 at her foster home of Lily Jacinto. Born in Honolulu, she was manager of the former Kona Surf Reort Shop and worked at both retail shops and coffee farms and was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Private service 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Inurnment to follow. Thelma Tsugino Mitsuda, 86, of Hilo died Sept. 12 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Dale Eugene Geiger, 84, of Kailua-Kona, formerly of Athens, W.Va., died July 24. He was retired from Concord College, now Concord University, in Athens as director of Student Residential Life, and was an instructor, baseball coach, play-by-play radio and public address football announcer, a member of Athens’ Volunteer Fire Department, including its chief. He was involved in Child Protect of Mercer County and the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, a member of Concord United Methodist Church of Athens, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Princeton, W.Va.
