KEALAKEHE — Kealakehe boys basketball handled business against Hilo on Tuesday night at home, winning a 52-32 rout.
The Waveriders won their second straight, averaging nearly 66 points per game while allowing 46.2. Kealakehe improved to 11-6 overall and 8-4 in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF).
DeMarion Olloway leads the team with nearly 18 points per game in the conference, followed by Kamalu Pabre with 10.4. Michael Miller also averages 10.2 points per game overall.
The Vikings fell to 7-9 overall and 6-5 in league play. Overall, Hilo averages 50.5 points per game and gives up 48.9.
The Waveriders will return to the hardwood on Saturday against Hawaii Preparatory Academy inside Waimea’s Castle Gymnasium. Junior varsity will tip off first at 5 p.m., and varsity will follow.
Hilo next faces the Daggers at 6 p.m. tonight in Pahoa town.

KSH sweeps double-header
Kamehameha Schools-Hawai‘i dominated in its first game of its Tuesday double-header at home, routing Laupahoehoe 65-31.
The Warriors scored in double digits in every quarter played, including a 21-point second quarter. Raider Dias-Varize scored a game-high 23 points with six 3-point field goals made. Tyrin Luke added six.
The Seasiders had no double-digit scorers, but Taidyn Ballesteros led the way with nine points, followed by Xavier Abair and Jordan Aguilar with 12 combined points.
Laupahoehoe remained winless at 0-13, and will next face Konawaena at 6 p.m. tonight at home.
KSH then faced St. Joseph’s following the victory, winning a 91-14 rout. Kiai Yasso led the team with 15 points, followed by teammate Kai Kahana-Rowe with 12 and Mathias Kyota with 11.
Andrei Acierto led the Cardinals with nine points. SJS fell to 2-9, next hosting HPA at 6 p.m. Friday in Kea‘au.
The Warriors improved to 16-3 overall and 11-1 in the BIIF. They average nearly 71 points per game on the island while allowing under 37. Now having won 10 straight, KSH will look to continue its hot streak with a Tuesday matchup against Waiakea in Hilo town.
Pahoa 75, CLA 28
Pahoa boys basketball blasted the visiting Christian Liberty Academy on Tuesday, winning 75-28 at home to improve to 6-6 on the season. The Daggers have now won two consecutive.
Pahoa out-scored CLA 23-4 in the first quarter, setting the tone for the remainder of the night. Kyran Canete, the state’s top scorer at 28.9 points per game, scored a season-high 37 points to lead the winners. It was the sixth time Canete has scored 30 or more. Teammates Blayden Corda-Tolle, Jacob Sojot and Rysaiah Abadilla combined for 22 points.
The Daggers average 60.3 points per game while allowing 48.6.
Jeziah Mahaulu led the Canefire with 10 points, followed by Jermaine Cline with five. The 1-11 Canefire average 29.3 points a night.
Pahoa will be back in action against Hilo tonight, slated to host the Vikings at 6 p.m. in its own gym.
The Canefire will be back on the hardwood against Ka‘u at 6 p.m. Friday in Pahala.
HPA 67, Parker 23
HPA boys basketball won its ninth straight after a 67-23 beatdown of Parker on Tuesday in Waimea.
Ka Makani’s Kaleb Loo led both teams with 20 points and four 3-pointers made. Cam Root added 12, while Vander Eberhard and Kingdon Simmons combined for 12.
HPA averages 64.5 points per game in the BIIF while allowing under 39. The red and white improved to 15-5 overall and 9-1 in the BIIF.
Barry Daoust Jr. led the Bulls with 10 points. The 3-13 Bulls average 30.1 points per game.
Ka Makani will return to the floor against SJS on Friday night, while Parker will next play Hilo on Wednesday on the road.
