Parker ranch 4th of July Rodeo
Parker Ranch is proud to present the 61st Annual July 4th Rodeo and Horse Races, taking place on Friday, July 4 at the Parker Ranch Rodeo Arena in Waimea.
This iconic celebration brings together generations of paniolo and families to honor Waimea’s rich ranching heritage and the spirit of the Fourth of July. A beloved tradition for over six decades, the event showcases the time-honored skills of the Hawaiian cowboy through fast-paced, crowd-favorite competitions like horse races, ranch mugging, team roping, Po‘o Wai U and more. It’s a day of camaraderie, culture and good old-fashioned paniolo pride.
As part of the annual tradition, Parker Ranch proudly honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on our island community. This year, the ranch celebrates three cherished retirees — Keoki Liana, Tsuruo Nakata and Zen Fujii. In a new and exciting addition, two jumbo screens will be set up at the arena for the first time to bring fans closer to the action with live coverage, replays and interviews with the paniolo. This experience is made possible through the generous support of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement.
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. Guests can enjoy a lively mix of local food and craft vendors, keiki activities — including a petting zoo and pony rides — and Parker Ranch commemorative items available at the Paniolo Preservation Society booth. The grand entry kicks off the main rodeo action at 9:00 a.m., with nonstop excitement through 1 p.m.
Tickets are available in advance for just $10 at Kamuela Hardwoods, Paniolo Preservation Society and Waimea Butcher Shop. Online tickets are $12, plus applicable fees and taxes. Day-of tickets at the gate will be $15.
