Waikoloa Elementary golf tournament deadline approaches

The second Cool the School Scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Hapuna Golf Course. Proceeds from the charity event will help purchase air conditioning for Waikoloa School classrooms. The deadline to enter the two-person scramble tournament is this Wednesday.

Name the new ‘Z’ building

WAIMEA — Waimea Middle School’s soon-to-open $15.89 million, two-story STEAM learning center has been formally named the “Z” building by the State Department of Education, in keeping with all buildings on the more than 100-year-old campus bearing the name of a letter of the alphabet.

Parker debate team starts year with a win

WAIMEA — On Oct. 21, Parker School’s debate team won a first-place school trophy for the most ballots earned at Oahu’s Waialua High School Debate Tournament. It was the first 2017-2018 school year competition.

Community invited to ‘Spoken Word Ho’ike’ event

Ka Makani Players present ‘Surf Crazy’

WAIMEA — Hawaii Preparatory Academy’s Ka Makani Players will present the original musical parody of teenage surf films, a pop culture phenomenon of the 1960s, this Thursday through Sunday at the school’s Gates Performing Arts Center.

Parker School to host open house

Prospective families can attend admission events in November to see the campus, meet faculty and students and speak one-on-one about Parker School. A K-12 Open House for parents and students will be this Saturday from 9-11 a.m. A Kindergarten and First Grade Preview for adults only will be Nov. 8 from 8:15–10 a.m.
