Janet Brodwolf

Janet Katherine Brodwolf, 88, of Kapaau, died March 21 at her residence. Born Aug. 4, 1923, in Patterson, N.J., she was a retired registered nurse.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. May 5 at the Kapaau family residence for a service.

She is survived by sister, Carol Boyd, of Pennsylvania; sons, Kenneth von der Heyden, of Long Island, N.Y., Kurt von der Heyden, of Kapaau, Alan (Jill) Brodwolf, Kent Brodwolf and David Brodwolf, all of San Diego; daughter, Kate von der Heyden, of Long Island, N.Y.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Benjamin Noeau Sr.

Benjamin “Ben” Malomiki Noeau Sr., 80, of Kawaihae, died March 30 at his residence. Born May 9, 1931, in Kiilae, South Kona, he was a retired U.S. Department of Agriculture agricultural inspector, senior citizen coordinator, orchid farmer, county maintenance worker and auto mechanic technician. He was also a Makuu Farmers Association founder, Panaewa Young Farmers Association member, National Parks Golden Age lifetime member and Office of Hawaiian Affairs advisory board member.

A celebration of life begins at 9 a.m. April 14 at St. Benedict’s Honaunau beach lot pavilion. The family requests casual attire to be worn. Beach wear and swimming gear optional. For information call 938-9851 or 217-6051.

He is survived by wife, Naomi Noeau, of Kawaihae; sons, Miki Noeau Jr., of Makuu, Owl (Charlie Ann) Noeau, of Keaukaha, Brian (Judy) Noeau, of Las Vegas; daughters, Debbie (Garrick) Low, of Kailua-Kona, Gail (Fierry Pung) Noeau, of Keaau; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
