reported missing
Police are seeking the public’s help locating an 18-year-old Keaau man who was reported missing.
Daniel P. Kapumau was last seen around 4 p.m. on Sunday leaving a relative’s residence following an argument, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
He is described as part-Hawaiian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 146 pounds with a fair complexion, brown hair and brown eyes, according to police. He was last seen wearing black surf shorts.

Big Island police are searching for teen siblings reported missing from Hilo.
Mariah Akima, 16, was reported missing since March 2, according to the Hawaii Police Department. She is described as Hawaiian, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 122 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black sweater and black jeans.
Zachary Akima, 15, has been missing since March 3, according to police. He is described as Hawaiian, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red, black and white plaid jacket, black and blue surf shorts and a black cap.

Montana man apparently drowns
at Kahaluu
A Montana man apparently drowned Tuesday while swimming in waters off Kahaluu Beach Park in North Kona.
The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Edward Woyciehowic of Missoula, Mont., according to the Hawaii Police Department.
Shortly before noon, a lifeguard located Woyciehowicz floating in the bay and subsequently pulled him from the water and initiated CPR, according to police. Fire rescue personnel took over resuscitation efforts and transported him to Kona Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police do not suspect foul play and have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police seek Ka’u burglary victims
Big Island police are trying to locate the owners of property that officers recovered during burglary investigations in the Ka‘u District.
The items were recovered from suspects involved in burglaries in the Naalehu, Discovery Harbour and Green Sand areas, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The burglaries date back up to four months, and some may have not been reported to police.
Police have linked some of the recovered items to four different victims. However, police are still looking for the owner or owners of 12 other items including two car stereos, five solar panels, three car batteries, one fishing reel and one arc welder, according to police.
Possible burglary victims in the affected areas are asked to call Sgt. Cory Koi or Officer John Smith at 939-2520 with a description of their property.
