An article Thursday incorrectly portrayed why 42,332 active duty military and 53,115 military dependents were removed from the census counts during the course of reapportionment. According to the stipulated facts submitted to the court by state Attorney General David Louie, the military were removed “based on military records or data denoting the personnel’s state of legal residence.”
