Beverly Shebeck
Beverly Elaine Shebeck, 81, of Waimea, died May 31 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Dec. 31, 1930, in Los Angeles, she was a devout Christian, homemaker and former gospel soloist for Eagle’s Nest Church, Glendale Presbyterian Church, Garden Grove Community Church and numerous other churches throughout California.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. June 10 at New Hope Church in Waimea for a celebration of life. Family requests casual attire be worn. A private scattering of ashes to be held at a later date.
She is survived by daughters, Pamela (Eric) Smith, of San Clemente, Calif., Allison (Paul) Ruffing, of Waimea; son, Scott (Leonor) Shebeck, of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy Ishihara
Rev. Dr. Roy Yoneo Ishihara, 89, of Kona, died June 4 at his residence. Born Aug. 9, 1922, in Oceanside, Calif., he was a retired pastor of several Hawaii and California churches, including Central Kona Union Church, a coffee farmer and served as interim pastor at Lanakila Congregational, Kahikolu and Haili Congregational churches.

He is survived by wife, Dorothy Ishihara, of Captain Cook; son, Timothy (Melani) Ishihara; daughters, Deborah Ishihara, Elizabeth (Matt) Marchak, both of Los Angeles, Sara (Dale) Addlesberger, of Kona, Naomi (Larry) Campbell, of Austin, Texas; brother, Sakae Ishihara, of Napa Valley, Calif.; sister, Tish Kawanami, of Los Angeles; six grandchildren.

Susan Tama (Jinbo, Ejima) Sheetz, 66, of Vancouver, Wash., died May 19. Born in Hilo, she was retired from the Hawaii Police Department and member of Soka Gakkai International.

Pedro “Pete” Corotan, 82, of Hawi, died May 26 at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Anaheim, Calif. Born Sept. 9, 1929, in Hoea, Kohala, he worked as a groundsman for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and cane truck driver for the Kohala and Papaikou sugar plantations.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 9 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward chapel for an 11:30 a.m. service. Burial is at Hawi County Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Walter Kaoru Ikeuchi, 84, of Honokaa, died May 10 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1928, in Honokaa, he was the former owner of B. Ikeuchi & Sons True Value Hardware Store, member of Honokaa Hongwanji Mission, Honokaa Lions Club and Honokaa Business Association.

Arlene Alice Deason, 78, of Kailua-Kona, died June 2. Born June 17, 1933, in Detroit, she was a secretary at the University Liggett School in Grosse Point Woods, Mich., worked at clothing stores in Keauhou Shopping Center and the Kings’ Shops in Waikoloa.
No services are planned. Family requests donations be made to Hospice of Kona. Inurnment will be at the West Hawaii Veteran’s Cemetery.
She is survived by husband, Emory Deason, of Kailua-Kona; nieces, Jocelyn (Duane) Dillard, Karen (Bill) Dotson, both of Michigan.

Tsuneko Edna Oshima Forcum, 86, of Hilo, died May 23 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born July 20, 1925, in Kealakekua, she was a housewife, gardener and a Jehovah’s Witness.

Tolbert “Toby” Moore Kamakea, 54, of Honolulu, died May 23 at Straub Clinic in Honolulu. Born Oct. 1, 1957, in Honolulu, he was a football coach for the Kona Hawaiians and a prison guard at Halawa Correctional Facility.
