Minnie Barres, 102, of Keaau, died June 7 at home. Brn in Kapulena, she was a homemaker.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. June 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Our Lady of Lourdes cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
She is survived by daughters, Beverly (Ronnie) Coldiron of Portland, Texas, LaVerne (Donald) Chong, of Yorba Linda, Calif.; son, Sherwood Barres of Honokaa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Antone Caravalho Sr.
Antone “Tony” Cordeiro Caravalho Sr., 89, of Keauhou Mauka, died June 6 at his residence. Born April 6, 1923, in Hawi, he was a retired mac nut and coffee farmer, owner of Phillips 66 in Kainaliu and Kainaliu Used Cars, workedas a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for the former Kohala Sugar Co. and member of the Catholic Church and Kohala Puerto Rican Club.
Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. June 14 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Kawanui for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.
He is survived by wife, Adelia Caravalho, of Keauhou Mauka; sons, Anthony Caravalho and David (Theresa) Caravalho, both of Keauhou Mauka, Christino (Hannah) Caravalho, of Hilo; daughters, Irene Frederick, of Kailua-Kona, Adeline (Michael) Silva, of Kona Palisades, Annie (John, Sr.) Paul, of Kaloko; sisters, Betsy Caravalho, of mainland, Louisa Santiago, of Kapaau, Annie Travens, of Captain Cook; 42 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Avis Mae Manikis Pavao, 55, of Keaau, died June 2 at Kuakini Medical Center on Oahu. Born Dec. 24, 1956, in Hilo, she was a retired customer service manager for Walmart in Hilo and member of the Assembly of God Christian Church.

Joan “Peaches” Jeanette Boldt, 76, of Mountain View, died May 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 7, 1936, in Hollywood, Calif., she was a columnist for West Hawaii Today, volunteer for the American Cancer Society-North Kohala and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaau 2nd Ward.

Beth “Granma” Ellen Bath, 84, of Kurtistown, died May 29 at Hilo Medical Center. Born at home in Graham County, Kansas, she was retired from the clothing manufacturing industry.
