Current and former members of the Waimea Arts Council, as well as members of the community, are invited to a farewell remembrance of one of its most influential members. Dolly Dahle Loo, president emeritus at Waimea Arts Council for many years, died March 30.

The Waimea Arts Council has scheduled a memorial talk story reception for 3 to 5 p.m. July 14 at the Firehouse Gallery, where it is hoped her many friends from the community will come and reminisce about Loo. Her favorite — carrot cake — along with tea, coffee or sangria will be on the bill along with walls filled with floral images celebrating the beauty of spring.

Members of the Waimea Arts Council hope all her many friends will find a few minutes to stop by to say goodbye to a woman filled with personality and a zest for life.

Operated by the Waimea Arts Council, the Firehouse Gallery is located opposite the Waimea Chevron station at the intersection of Mamalahoa Highway and Lindsey Road. Parking is free at the rear of the gallery behind the senior center. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, subject to the availability of docents.

Call the gallery at 887-1052 for more information.
