Kunio Nakahara

Kunio “Naka” Nakahara, 83, of Hilo died Sept. 28, 2012 at Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born March 29, 1929, in Olaa, he was a retired plan designer for Hawaii Electric Light Company, a retired sergeant first class with the Hawaii Army National Guard and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission, Big Island National Guard Retirees Association and Hauoli Community Association.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

He is survived by wife, Terumi Nakahara, of Hilo; daughter, Glynis (Van Okamura) Nakahara, of San Francisco, Calif.; brothers, Sueo Nakahara, of Laurel, Md., Shigeru Nakahara, of Westminster, Calif., Jitsuo (Pat) Nakahara, of Bothell, Wash.; sister, Fumie Sayegusa, of Torrance, Calif.; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
