Hawaii remains under tsunami alert

As of 11:30pm HST, the state of Hawaii and Hawaii Island remain under tsunami alert. At 7:09pm, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a Tsunami Warning for the State of Hawaii. An Earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred near British Columbia, Canada. A tsunami warning remains in effect for the Island of Hawaii. All low coastal areas remain at risk and must remain evacuated. Waves may last several hours. Be prepared to remain out of the evacuated area for an extended period of time. Anyone not in the evacuation area is requested to stay off the roads and highways to facilitate evacuation efforts.
