The Hawaii Fire Department Ocean Safety Division has closed Laaloa, Kahaluu and Hapuna beach parks because of reported increasing surf heights and run up at beaches in the West Hawaii areas of Kona and South Kohala, according to the Hawaii County Civil Defense.
