Police arrested 25 drivers for suspected drunken driving between Feb. 25 and Monday; four were involved in traffic accidents.

Police have made 210 suspected DUI arrests this year compared with 249 during the same period in 2012, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Kona and South Hilo officers arrested 11 motorists in each district while South Kohala officers arrested two drivers and Ka‘u officers arrested one motorist, according to police.

There have been 228 major accidents this year compared with 272 during the same period in 2012. To date, there have been nine traffic fatalities on the Big Island compared with six at this time in 2012.
